Strange Events in an Estranged World

This is a follow-up to my recent article on Las Vegas shooting and gun control. The world is faced with many unimaginable issues. The wise and the intellectuals have only one word “shocked” at the unfolding events across the globe. Due regard for the sanctity of human lives is completely out of the window in the world. The only common thing in society today is abuse, maiming and killing of souls that were created to make their own impact in the various aspects of human endeavors. Attacks on human lives come from different angles; including religious fundamentalism. There are people of different religious persuasions; in particular the Muslim world who have acted as if they are God and have invented judgment of life elimination on people they considered as “infidels”. In their depraved mind, they believe that “infidels” do not have a right to life, and they assumed the position of accusers and judge to condemn innocent people. For decades, the ranks of these perverse groups have more than tripled. Our environments have also changed for the worse, toxic as it would in all its ramifications. We, and our younger generations are choked with bad and corrupt educational systems, in the class rooms, on the internets, and in conventional and social media, including virulent political utterances, and various anti-social behaviors.

The problems have become interactable because man and woman continued to be deceived that they have answers to emerging issues in the world. Our struggles have become too strong, and confusing, and happily, has led some individuals to publicly accept and confess that they no longer have answers to questions regarding many strange happenings in our societies. This to me is common sense and welcome development because the turning for the worse in our societies is stemmed from our lack of understanding of the mysteries around the events that are occurring in the world. And our seeming inability to accept the fact that these issues are beyond our understanding is a big problem that has not allowed us to seek for a better way to approach the issues. It has left the authorities, the law enforcements and the intelligent officers to often go through difficulties to track and detect crimes and motives of crime. The struggles have continued to hamper our human developments and happiness. The problem is the lack of a basic understanding of the world that we live in, and the controls behind its systems. A good understanding of the mysteries behind the control of the system of the world will help us not only to know why things happen, but also to understand why things are daily turning for the worse in societies, despite the huge resources, money, human, and new technologies we now have in the world with the aim of making the place a better one to live in.

Most of the unfortunate events, if not all, in our world, do not happen by chance; they are issues that are played out in the spirit. We are always handicapped because we can see only the physical occurrences and its effects but we have no knowledge of what happened about these events in the spirit world. Some of the times, the revelation is given to those who God decides to give it. The spiritual is transcendental and celestial and we can’t deal with it in our physical body. Job in his years of travails which he could see, the loss of his children and properties, including his debilitated illness. Job responded to only his physical ordeal that he could see and feel in his years of travails of the loss of his children and properties, including a debilitated illness that got him bedridden. Job had no idea of what transpired between Satan and God concerning him. Satan is a spirit being, and he is the owner and founder of evils. He however would not be able to operate in our world without a physical body. The willing bodies in our world, man or woman are instruments in his hands to cause these damages. A willing man or woman by personal choice surrenders, his or her mouth, hands, legs, eyes, or any other bodily parts for the use of Satan to make the events that happened to happen. The status of a man or a woman in society, not withstanding, his or her willingness to be used by Satan is the only requirement for Satan to cause havoc. Satan has only one motive in all his activities in the world, and it is to kill and to destroy. “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.” (John 10:10). Therefore, it is a waste of time to look for any other motives behind criminal events that occurred in our world.

Ironically, we are not interested in having these understanding because we determine to ignore anything called spiritual as it does not make sense to us, which in itself is ignorance and major issue in the world. Our dependence on only human intellect and neglect of the giver of the intellect is in itself the most stupid thing in the world. Many years ago, C.S. Lewis said, “though flesh (in a sense) knows what spirit knows, only spirit knows it knows. Only when we look back from supernature do we see what nature really meant”. Satan is a spirit being who was in the presence of God before he came to the world to do the damages we are experiencing today. We have no understanding of the situations but very often, we do not accept that we don’t because Satan, the founder and author of confusions makes efforts to block our sense of reasoning as it touches our choices in life. The day we get our reasoning back is the day we are liberated from Satan’s prison camp. Unfortunately, some people will never be liberated because they have determined to shut out completely any spiritual insight from their mind. That is the surest way to destruction.

For example, what meaning can we make from a millionaire who suddenly snapped and committed suicide? What is he or she looking for? Or how do you explain a famous celebrity who went ballistic, abusing, physically assaulting and raping women when he knows the consequences. Talk less of politicians who will twist truth. One of the troubles the investigators faced in Las Vegas Paddock’s shooting is the motive of a man who by all account was known to be rich financially to suddenly snap to perpetrate the greatest mass killing by one person in the recent time. How do you explain the action of deranged man who loaded his gun, and destroyed his entire family (his wife, his children and himself) in a swoop? They are issues that no psychology professor can have the right answers to. The point is that we are limited in our human knowledge and understanding. When Cain the first murderer in the world killed his brother, the rational explanation was that it was out of jealousy for his brother when God accepted Abel’s offering but did not regard his. But then, how does the killing of Abel help to assuage the fact that his offering continued to be rejected even after his brother was killed. To my understanding, there was no sense in doing what he did because killing his brother did not change his situation but rather compounded it. Such good reasons can only be in a man who is controlled by the Spirit of God.

There was a man, many centuries ago, in Rome; he perpetrated atrocities against humanity particularly the early Christians. He was a young zealous man who supervised the stoning to death of one of the early Christian patriarch, Steven. What was Steven’s crime? He told the truth when it mattered and as usual he angered the people. They cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul. (Acts 7:58). Saul thought he was doing the right thing, not knowing that Satan had scuttled the purpose of God for his life. The world of many people, mainly Christian believers collapsed at his feet. A spiritual understanding of his life purpose changed the perspectives of Saul who later changed his name to Paul. Later in his ministries, Paul said, “For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God”. (1 Cor 15:9).

The high point in the life of Paul is that he admitted that he did things he knew he shouldn’t do. In one of his teachings in a Roman church, Paul said, “For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin. For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do. If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good. But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members”. (Romans 7:14-23)

Sin is an issue in the world but the understanding of sin is spiritual. It is hard to explain to you the nature of sin if you are among those who chose not to know or believe in God. The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. (1 Cor 1:18). Contrary to popular opinions, sin is not adultery, homosexual, stealing or killing. These are symptoms of sin. Sin is the corruptness of the heart that chose to do things contrary to desire of his or her God. The only way for our world to change for good is to get the people to understand the solution and purification to the human heart filled with sin. The solution is not in Rehab facilities, psychiatric hospital or prison reforms. These are temporary measures that often fail when not combined with the transformation that can only be found through Jesus Christ. Several rehabbed people have come back to societies to do more damages than they have done in the past. Many people came out of the reformed jails/prisons into society to do more harm. But when sin is dealt with either in Rehab, prison or anywhere, through the knowledge of Jesus Christ, the great reformer, the man or the woman becomes transformed and able to contribute positively to society. “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36). There are several ex-prisoners who have spent the rest of their lives to the betterment of society because they met Jesus while in their incarcerations. Paul said, “O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!” (Romans 7:24-25). The confession of Paul in his weaknesses is a hope for all those who today find themselves doing things they would rather not do.
